Sunshine Coast Aircon Service is a local enquiry and quoting service for split-system and ducted air conditioning: new installs, repairs, annual servicing and commercial work. It covers the Sunshine Coast Region from Caloundra to Noosa, including Maroochydore, Buderim, Mooloolaba, Nambour, Kawana and Coolum. The site is run by Yes Right Pty Ltd (ABN 91 664 546 061).

How it works.

You call or use the quote form. We pass the job to a local air conditioning business that can price it. That business quotes you directly and is responsible for its own licences, insurance and workmanship. We don't charge you for the enquiry. Businesses we refer work to may pay us a referral fee.

• Refrigerant licence. Anyone handling refrigerant needs an ARCtick Refrigerant Handling Licence from the Australian Refrigeration Council. Ask for the number and check it on the ARC “Look for the Tick” register.
• QBCC licence. The installer needs the correct QBCC licence for mechanical services air-conditioning and refrigeration work. Search the business on the QBCC licence register before paying a deposit.
• Electrical work. The electrical connection must be done by a licensed electrician to AS/NZS 3000. Electrical licences can be checked through the Electrical Safety Office, and you should get a Certificate of Electrical Safety for the work.
• Insurance. Ask for a current public liability insurance certificate.
• Written quote. It should name the make, model and kW capacity of each unit, the pipe run, drainage, electrical work and any exclusions, plus the manufacturer warranty and the installer’s own workmanship warranty.
• Deposit. Keep the deposit within the QBCC limits for the contract value, and don’t pay the full amount upfront.
• Units and townhouses. Get body-corporate approval in writing for the outdoor unit position before any work starts.
